Restoration of the Gymnasium and the historical buildings in Palermo’s Botanical Gardens (Palermo, Italy) | |||||||
Description | The project involves a set of interventions aimed at restoring the historic facilities of the Botanical Gardens and the various annexed buildings. As regards the buildings in particular, in order to restore the original architectural components and colours, a thorough historical-bibliographical and iconographical investigation was preliminarily conducted. These buildings were the only work carried out by the French architect Leon Doufurny, and were in effect the first Botanical Garden of modern design in Europe. |
